Vegas Uncork’d 2017: Yes… get better every year

It’s going to seem that I pay for to make promotion. But it is not. The reality is that, as you well know, in The Flavors of Mexico and the World have a particular fascination for the dining scene of Las Vegas and has a lot to do that, year-on-year, we’re going to rediscover what the most important chefs of the gateway culinary have to show. And the best time to do this is -and will remain- Vegas Uncork’d. So, be checking your calendar and setting apart the days, because from 27 to 30 April have the same appointment with the city of sin that each year it is impossible to miss.
The Grand Tasting, 2016
WHAT WE SHOULD NOT MISS
Whenever I start an article on what comes in Vegas Uncork’d I have to be clear that the best time of the 4 days of aqeularre culinary is The Grand Tasting, which this year has a cost of $260 USD and, believe me, even if they make the conversion at today’s exchange rate, it is worth every one of the dollars and cents, that will pay for it (do you set how already assure you that they are going to pay?) since that is the time that all the restaurants participating, guys, large, medium, great, are put together in the Garden of the Gods, as they are called the pools of Caesar’s Palace , and between food and drink are placed as the culinary experience of the week. There you will find Alain Ducasse, Guy Savoy, Giada de Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay, Hubert Keller, and all who participate in the four days of Uncork’d. So go away their tickets, believe me, they are finished. The food never touched me it is finished, but the tickets fly.
On the 28th of April, as for booting properly on the day, there is an event that makes me drool, after having tasted the cuisine of Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger for two consecutive years. In the restaurant Border Grill that is in the Forum Shops will now learn how to use your phone as a professional camera. It is enough to walk by watching and salivating accounts of Instagram. It is time that this lesson of #FoodPorn you make salivate others while they learn, in addition, the recipes for great dishes and cocktails, this pair of cooks which draws its inspiration from the mexican cuisine, are ready to enjoy what should be. There are still places, so don’t delay.
WHAT IS NEW, AND THAT SEEMS TO BE A CRAZE
This year, however, there are two events that I call the attention for what is different and how much fun they promise to be. First the Sweet Escape: An Evening of Buddy, Beignets, Bon Bons & Booze, with Buddy Valastro as a host in his restaurant in The Palazzo. Valastro is known worldwide for its program Cake Boss, and if something remained to us to clear seeing chapter after chapter of the series is that their beignets are, apparently, a real gem of taste. Obviously, at the first opportunity that we had to walk close to a Carlo s Bakery we had to go check it out. And yes… it is everything that we hoped it to be and a little bit more. Now add drinks, live music and the participation of the Chef Lorena Garcia, the new star of The Venetian who had the chance to meet at an event a few weeks ago in the city of Mexico, and that promises a lot with their new menu.
Finally -at least finally in this first part of recommendations for Vegas Uncork’d– there is a new event. Last year we went out to Las Vegas Boulevard to put together an event in Downtown Container Park and was incredible. This year they are going to take advantage of one of the new spectacular venues of sin city: The Park. This space between the hotels New York New York and Monte Carlo -it should be noted that, by 2017, MGM Resorts returns to be part of the event – in which there will be a picnic that will have two immediate consequences: it will make them crazy and will change the vision you have of any picnic to the back to go in your life. And it is that this will be served by Alain Ducasse, Charlie Palmer, Julian Serrano, Michael Mina, Shawn McClain, Roy Ellamar and Akira Black. So… quietly. Games, food, ping-pong, table games, and the best food you can imagine. This event is about taking the inner child and give you the best pampering of your life.
AS WE ARRIVED, AND WHEN WE ARRIVED
Well, the first thing you should do is set aside your flight and hotel. The event is from 27 to 30 April -best excuse to celebrate the inner child does not exist – and I recomiedo get from the 26, for installed, enjoy Las Vegas the night before and give full time to the gluttony. Aeromexico has good deals to fly to the city and a lot of scheduling options, because there are also events on Sunday, like a Brunch at Rao’s to close with a pleasure Italian cuisine. So, if you can afford to, I would even say that they stay until the Monday. At the end of the day, Sunday is a day of low-cost hotels, so don’t come out as expensive and return on a Monday cheaper than returning on a Sunday. The best hotels to stay are, of course, Caesar’s Palace, MGM Grand, Bellagio and The Cromwell, to be close to everything. However, in the remaining, the reality is that you can walk from one to the other without any problem. And after the way we eat in this event… believe me, you are going to need.
